Webinar - Potential Future Restriction of Aluminum
Relationship between Al3+ and Alzheimer's Disease
OTTAWA, Jan. 29, 2015 /CNW/ - On 11 February 2015, Claigan Environmental Inc. (www.claigan.com) will present a webinar on the potential for future restrictions of aluminum in products. Since 2012, a number of papers have been published identifying the Al3+ ion,a common soluble form of aluminum, to be a cause of Alzheimer's disease. As part of a forward-looking strategy to identify materials for potential future restrictions, Claigan will be discussing the issues related to Al3+, applicability to products, and potential restrictions and restriction timelines.
With governments basing their risk analysis on peer reviewed data and the seriousness of the related risk, there is an expectation that restrictions on aluminum uses in products will appear in the future and may appear with little to no warning - in particular for medical devices and consumer products.
Topics to be covered in this webinar:
• Relationship between Al3+ and Alzheimer's Disease
• Principal studies and literature
• Sources of Al3+
• Solubility of aluminum in water
• Applicability to products
• Current status of restriction and lawsuits
• Potential forms and timelines of restrictions
Due to the expected interest in this topic, two (2) webinars are being held on February 11th to accommodate a larger audience.
