Webinar - ECJ Ruling - REACH SVHC Definition of an Article
OTTAWA, 11 Sept. 2015 /CNW/ - On 30 September 2015, Claigan Environmental Inc. (www.claigan.com) will present a webinar addressing the ruling of the European Court of Justice (ECJ) concerning the definition of an article for REACH SVHCs. On 10 September 2015, the ECJ ruled that each of the articles incorporated as a component of a complex product is covered by the relevant duties to notify and provide information when they contain a substance of very high concern (SVHC) in a concentration above 0.1% of their mass. Therefore, the presence of REACH SVHCs in a component of a complex article needs to be communicated to the customer if it exceeds 0.1% w/w of the component.
This webinar will focus on the technical ramifications of the ECJ ruling on product manufacturers, how to update current REACH information, and how to manage compliance for REACH SVHCs on an ongoing basis. The practical steps will include a discussion of incorporating the new compliance requirement of RoHS Commission Delegated Directive 2015/863 (phthalates) into the product compliance update.
Beyond a technical explanation of the ruling, this webinar will focus primarily on how to comply in practice. In particular, there will be a discussion of which compliance steps need to be changed or adapted.
