Anthony Haines is a 2017 Clean16 award winner
TORONTO, Sept. 23, 2016 /CNW/ - Toronto Hydro's president and CEO, Anthony Haines, has been named to the 2017 Clean16 group of leaders, which acknowledges those who have helped advance the cause of sustainability and clean capitalism in Canada.
The award was handed out yesterday at a ceremony in Toronto by the Delta Management Group, a sustainability and clean technology search firm.
The Delta Management Group created the Clean16 awards to recognize remarkable and inspiring leaders, but also to attempt to connect those leaders in order to bridge gaps, and build connections that might not otherwise occur.
Delta's criteria in determining Honourees is to carefully consider actual measurable accomplishments, demonstrated innovation, collaboration with other organizations, and the power of the Honouree's contribution to inspire other Canadians to take similar action.
- Under Anthony's forward looking leadership, Toronto Hydro has powered some significant accomplishments, including:
- Delivered 24% of the province's conservation and demand management (CDM) focused savings
- Connected 11,000 solar projects
- Supported emerging technologies such as Hydrostor, a underwater compressed-air energy storage system and eCamion, which uses pole top energy storage
"The 2017 Clean16 are truly the leaders of the leaders in sustainability in Canada. The competition for the top spot this year in every instance left us with many great choices — and to be selected from amongst such a strong group of peers is truly a testament to the contribution Anthony Haines has made to helping make Canada more sustainable for all Canadians."
- Gavin Pitchford, Chief Talent Officer, Delta Management Group
"I'm honoured to be part of a great group of leaders. At Toronto Hydro, we've been very supportive of new innovation that can help us become a more sustainable organization, and this is recognition that the work we're doing is valuable."
- Anthony Haines, president and CEO, Toronto Hydro
