The Société ferroviaire et portuaire de Pointe-Noire Announces a Call for Projects to Relaunch the Pointe-Noire Pellet Plant in Sept-îles Français
SEPT-ÎLES, QC, Feb. 20, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - The Société ferroviaire et portuaire de Pointe-Noire (SFPPN) today announced a call for projects to relaunch industrial activities at the iron ore pellet plant located on its Pointe-Noire site in Sept-Îles.
The selected promoter will be required to reopen and operate the plant. The project presented must be flexible and generate a maximum of regional benefits while ensuring the long-term viability of activities using the infrastructure. The SFPPN is open to all the options that may be proposed to relaunch the plant.
Interested companies have until March 3, 2017 to indicate their interest. They will then be asked to submit a project that will be assessed using predetermined criteria. About SFPPN
The SFPPN is a limited partnership set up by Investissement Québec. Its main objective is to develop and enhance its assets located at Pointe-Noire, Sept-Îles. These assets include roughly 1,200 hectares (ha) of land. Of this area, roughly 500 ha is used for heavy industrial purposes, with railways, docks, rail yards, offices, the pellet plant and other facilities required for operational purposes. The site is strategically located less than 10 km from Route 138 and roughly 40 km from Sept-Îles airport.
