TORONTO , Oct. 23 /CNW/ - Beloved Canadian tenor, John McDermott, will launch his upcoming Canada-wide tour on October 31, 2009 with a special evening at the Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto .

All proceeds from that show "A Musical Tribute to Our Veterans" and all proceeds from the new CD will go to Canada Company: Many Ways to Serve. A registered charity, Canada Company supports the men and women who have served and given their lives for our country and those who continue to serve. His new CD "Journeys" tells the story of our Canadian heroes and will only be available during McDermott's cross-country tour. This extremely moving album has songs such as "The Dreamer" and "The Last Note", written by renowned songwriter Eric Bogle .

"This album is a tribute to those who have given their lives to allow us to live as we do, and to encourage our survivors and our men and women in the field," says McDermott.
