October sales set new milestone in Subaru's 35-year history.
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Nov. 1, 2012 /CNW/ - Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) celebrated a new milestone in company history today as it announced October results of 3,035 units, a new all-time monthly record. This 31.2 percent increase in October sales also puts the brand in an excellent position to make year-end history for 2012: With 25,462 units sold to date, year-to-date sales are up 13.3 percent over the same period last year. This sixth consecutive month of record-breaking results also mean that Subaru Canada is on track to make 2012 its best year yet.
The Subaru Impreza led the sales charge, toppling October records as sales rose by a whopping 591.4 percent versus the same month last year. Year to date, sales of the fun-to-drive compact car are up 76.2 percent. Subaru's Outback sales also rose by 18.2 percent over last October. The brand new 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek also set a blistering sales pace in its third full month of sales with 529 units sold this past October.
"I'm thrilled that we've exceeded the 3,000-unit mark and made history with the highest sales month ever," said Shiro Ohta, president and CEO of Subaru Canada, Inc. "Subaru's recent awards include being named Automotive Lease Guide's Best Mainstream Brand for having the highest predicted resale value overall. Subaru also has the unprecedented distinction of being the only manufacturer to have 2012 TOP SAFETY PICKS for all models three years in a row from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. These highly coveted accolades assure our customers they've made a wise choice. Our recent sales records indicate that more and more Canadians are recognizing Subaru as a smart alternative to mainstream brands."
