Shopware Brings Clarity to Agentic Commerce with Agentic Commerce Maturity Index

SCHÖPPINGEN, Germany, Oct. 7, 2026 /CNW/ -- Shopware is pleased to announce the launch of Agentic Commerce Maturity Index (ACMI), a new tool designed to help merchants measure their AI readiness and offers a structured view of their current position in the global agentic commerce market. Armed with detailed feedback, ACMI enables commerce leaders to make timely decisions and adjust their strategy.

Marketers fill out a questionnaire, which generates a Maturity score to identify a storefront's readiness for the agentic market while offering concrete recommendations for improvement. By replacing unhelpful or potentially inaccurate predictions of more basic grading frameworks, the index gives marketers an informed starting point. Merchants can see where they stand and which gaps to close, as well as what to prioritize next, all while looking at the entire customer journey.

The 24-question assessment evaluates readiness across four areas:

• Discovery: Can AI agents find, understand and appropriately recommend products?
• Transactions: Can agents complete purchases reliably, accurately and with the right attribution? 
• Fulfillment: Can inventory, logistics and service deliver on the promises an agent makes to the customer? 
• Operations: Are data, systems and governance ready to support agentic commerce over time?
