MONTREAL, June 5, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) will finish its 2013 Eco-Run at Polytechnique Montréal's technical societies workshop this Thursday, June 6, at 10 a.m. A Formula One driver visiting Montréal for the weekend Grand Prix activities will be on hand.
Polytechnique's future engineers, who design, among others, solar vehicles and who represent Canada at various international competitions, will have an opportunity to talk with AJAC members and to learn more about fuel-efficient driving habits.
On the program: Tour of the facilities and vehicles built by Polytechnique students just a few weeks before international competitions; signing of students' helmets and vehicles by the F1 driver!
The AJAC Eco-Run is an annual media event aimed at raising public awareness about the latest technologies developed by automakers to reduce their vehicles' energy consumption.
From June 4 to 6, some 20 automotive journalists will drive from Ottawa to Montréal at the wheel of fuel-efficient and fuel-alternative (i.e., plug-in electric, plug-in hybrid, and high-performance-diesel) vehicles. A list of participating cars and the stops en route is available on the AJAC website.
