MONTREAL, April 5, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Cancer Research Society is very pleased to invite you to the EUGENIE BOUCHARD CHALLENGE taking place this Saturday, April 6 2013 from 1:00 p.m.to 4:00 p.m.at the Nun's Island Tennis Club.

The following eight business moguls and Quebec media personalities will be testing their skills tomorrow against the notable talent of professional tennis player Eugenie Bouchard as part of the Eugenie Bouchard Challenge: Eric Melka, Jim Noteboom, Philippe Leblanc, Valérie Tétreault, Sarah Levy, François Godbout, Richard Viau and Benjamin Deloume.

These eight tennis fans responded to the Cancer Research Society's call to action by bidding the highest amounts in a silent auction that will grant them the opportunity to play a tiebreaker against this rising star on the WTA circuit, Eugenie Bouchard, who is now ranked 114^th in the world. In addition to the participants, some artistic personalities, including well-known actor Michel-Olivier Girard, as well as media representatives including Justine Boutet (Radio Canada Sports) as well as Paul Rivard (TVA Sports) will also have a chance to challenge the young Westmount athlete.

A professional referee will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of the games. All players selected by the silent auction, including special guests, will get a video of their exploits next week. Those who wish to get up close and personal with the international tennis world's newest darling and who wish to take part in this activity - hosted by journalist-presenter Marius Brisson - are welcome. Several prizes will be drawn. We look forward to seeing you this Saturday, April 6, at 1:00 p.m. at the Ile-des-Soeurs Tennis Club located at 300 Chemin du Golf. Please note that you can also attend Eugenie's warm-up session with Jean-François Mathieu at noon on Saturday.

About Eugenie Bouchard

Eugenie Bouchard is a 19 year old Canadian professional tennis player. Born in Westmount Québec, she started playing tennis at the age of 5.

On April 1 of this year, Eugenie reached her highest WTA ranking to date of 114 in the world. She was the first Canadian to win a singles Grand Slam event at the Wimbledon Junior Championships in 2012. Following this tournament, she was ranked #2 in the world junior rankings.

Despite her young age, Eugenie Bouchard already holds 6 professional titles on the ITF circuit.
