TORONTO, May 31, 2013 /CNW/ - It is with deep regret that Ornge, Ontario's provider of air ambulance and related services, confirms there are no survivors of an accident early this morning involving one of its air ambulance helicopters.
Four members of Ornge's staff were on board the aircraft: two pilots and two paramedics. No patients were on board. We have notified the families.
"Everybody at Ornge is deeply saddened by this tragic incident, and our hearts go out to the families and friends of those who lost their lives. We will do whatever we can to support them at this difficult time. We will also co-operate fully with the authorities charged with investigating the accident," said Dr. Andrew McCallum, President and CEO of Ornge.
Further details will be made available at a media conference to be held later today. Time is still to be confirmed.
