Ontario Shores Launches New Five-Year Strategic Plan
WHITBY, ON, June 13, 2012 /CNW/ - At its 6th Annual General Meeting, Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores) unveiled its new five-year strategic plan. With a theme of Advancing Care, Building Connections, Achieving Excellence … Together, the new plan guides the direction of the organization to provide enhanced mental health and addictions services and contribute to the advancement of the mental health care system.
"We are pleased to launch our 2012-2017 Strategic Plan that builds on our history of caring, collaboration and accountability. Through innovative and sustainable approaches, Ontario Shores will expand our comprehensive and integrated care models to deliver a positive patient experience. " says Michael Nettleton, Chair, Board of Directors, Ontario Shores.
The Strategic Plan outlines the organization's four new strategic directions:
- Strengthen Access and Capacity within Specialized Mental Health Care.
- Build Capacity for Mental Health Well-Being in People and in Communities.
- Explore and Enable New Healthcare Delivery Models
- Advance a Culture of Innovation and Discovery
"It is an exciting time for Ontario Shores as we embark on the next era of our journey," says Glenna Raymond, President and CEO, Ontario Shores. "It is through continued collaboration and dedication that we can create a strong, regional mental health and addictions system with increased access to care, well-managed transitions and exemplary programs to help those affected by mental illness reach their optimal recovery."
Ontario Shores also launched its new five-year academic plan entitled, Advancing a Culture of Innovation and Discovery. The plan builds on the momentum from the organization's first academic plan to further its goal of becoming a dynamic academic and research environment.
"We would like to thank the hundreds of patients, families, staff, volunteers, community providers, healthcare professionals, educators, government stakeholders and countless others for their input that helped shape our new visionary plan," says Raymond.
