New Fifty Shades Book Hits Stores
TORONTO, June 18, 2015 /CNW/ - The book that is bound to please is published today by Vintage Books. Grey: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian, hits stores in Canada and around the English speaking world today. The date is significant, as devotees of the original trilogy will know, as Christian Grey's birthday.
The trilogy of Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed has reached worldwide sales of more than 125 million copies, in 52 languages, since Vintage first published them in spring 2012. The film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, released in February of this year, broke box office records around the world.
As James writes on the opening page of Grey "this book is dedicated to those readers who asked …. and asked….and asked … and asked for this." She continues, "Christian is a complex character and readers have always been fascinated by his desires and motivations, and his troubled past. Also, as everyone who has ever been in a relationship knows, there are two sides to every story."
In Canada, there was so much pent up desire to get the book as soon as possible, that 42 Indigo stores across the country opened at midnight to accommodate the demand.
