NACCA Celebrates 30th Annual General Meeting in Kamloops, BC
OTTAWA, ON, Sept. 22, 2026 /CNW/ -- The National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association (NACCA) hosted its 30th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 15-17th in Kamloops, BC. The event highlighted historic achievements from the past fiscal year, including the successful roll out of the Indigenous Youth Entrepreneurship Program (IYE), the successes of the IFI network and members, the launch of new programming and the election of new board members.
For 30th years, NACCA has served as the national voice for Indigenous Financial Institutions (IFIs), securing long-term stability to support Indigenous entrepreneurship and prosperity. This year, initiatives have turned international with NACCA CEO, Shannin Metatawabin, traveling to Australia for the Connect 2026 in August. NACCA's presence marked a vital step forward in international Indigenous trade, partnerships and shared knowledge. The event also highlighted the immense impact that the IFI network has had on the Indigenous economy.
"Since our founding, the IFI network has disbursed nearly 55,000 loans and helped create over 180,000 jobs. That impact is staggering, and it is something we should all carry with immense pride today." NACCA Board Chair, Keith Matthew, shared with members in attendance on Wednesday.
The AGM closed with the announcement of newly elected board members, Shelly Mandeville (Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut) and Charlene Beamin (Manitoba) with Camden Lawrence returning as Regional Director for Ontario. NACCA also thanked and honoured long serving members, Elaine Chambers (Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut) and Carol Johnston (Manitoba).
