First Nations Procurement Authority welcomes Darrin Jamieson as inaugural CEO
ENOCH CREE NATION, AB, Sept. 3, 2026 /CNW/ -- The First Nations Procurement Authority (FNPA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Darrin Jamieson, member of Six Nations of the Grand River, as its inaugural Chief Executive Officer, marking an important milestone for the organization as it begins its work to expand First Nations participation in procurement opportunities across Canada.
A proud First Nations leader with more than three decades of experience in economic development, procurement, governance, business leadership, and Nation-building, Jamieson brings a proven track record of helping First Nations create sustainable economic opportunities, strengthen institutional capacity, and advance self-determination through strategic partnerships and procurement.
"Mr. Jamieson's appointment represents a significant step forward for the First Nations Procurement Authority and for Indigenous economic reconciliation across Canada," said Jody Anderson, FNPA Board Chair. "His extensive experience working alongside First Nations governments, development corporations, and major industry partners makes him exceptionally well-positioned to lead this important organization during its foundational years."
Jamieson began his career in 1990 following the completion of his business degree, working with the Community Futures program at Six Nations. Recognizing the challenges many Indigenous entrepreneurs faced in accessing capital, he established his own consulting practice and completed more than 150 business plans and supported numerous First Nations entrepreneurs, institutions, and community development projects.
As Chief Executive Officer of the Tsuut'ina Group of Companies, Jamieson oversaw a diverse business portfolio that included hospitality, energy, construction, retail, and real estate interests. Under his leadership, the organization expanded its workforce and developed long-term growth strategies designed to maximize economic benefits for Tsuut'ina Nation members.
More recently, Jamieson was the Nation CEO for his home community of Six Nations, followed by a return to the Ktunaxa Nation Council as Chief Administrative Officer, where he continued to support self-governance transformation while enhancing benefits from their Impact Management Benefit Agreement (IMBA) with Elk Valley Resources.

It is clear, in addition to supporting directed procurement policies and procedures, we need to further enhance practical tools to ensure our meaningful participation in the economy," said Jamieson.
