TORONTO, March 26, 2014 /CNW/ - President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada, Tim A. Reuss, was joined by members of the company's senior management to help Gabriel Gennarelli, Dealer Principal of the future retail facility, turn over the first shovelful of soil. This celebrated the official inauguration of the brand new dealership in Pointe-aux-Trembles, Quebec.
The construction of this new retail sales facility will begin shortly on a 3.9-acre site located off Highway 40 East at 12525 Metropolitain East Boulevard. Scheduled to be fully operational by the end of this year, the dealership will feature ample space over two floors, incorporating two separate new and pre-owned vehicle showrooms of 12,500 sq ft each. The facility will be able to stock more than 80 vehicles inside the building.
The 13,000 sq ft service area will house a total of 18 state-of-the-art service bays, including 2 oversized bays designed to accommodate the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. In addition, a 10 vehicle customer reception area will efficiently serve the needs of after-sales customers while a generously appointed Mercedes-Benz lounge will provide them with a comfortable and productive waiting environment.
The overall layout of the entire facility will follow the Auto Haus design concept, featuring extensive use of glass to promote transparency throughout the building. This building will also debut the new Mercedes-Benz retail corporate identity where black coupled with accents of silver, reminiscent of the three-pointed star, will replace the blue colours traditionally seen in Mercedes-Benz stores.
Numerous environmental sustainability measures will be implemented in the construction of this dealership. Mr. Gennarelli has opted to utilize locally sourced materials made of a high percentage of recycled materials. Special attention has also been given to help reduce the heat island effect, and to maximize energy efficiencies.
"It is our great pleasure to welcome Gabriel Gennarelli to our dealer network. We quickly realized that Mr. Gennarelli was truly motivated to represent our brand in the east end of Montreal." said Tim A. Reuss, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada. "Montreal has always been a high priority in the growth strategy of Mercedes-Benz Canada, and we are very glad that Gabriel and his team will expand our brand's reach into this important market."
From his side, Mr. Gennarelli added, "We are extremely proud and delighted to be joining the Mercedes-Benz dealer family in Canada. The Mercedes-Benz brand is a symbol of prestige, performance and unwavering customer dedication and we are committed to building a business with the mission of exceeding customer expectations. We are confident that our newly appointed staff, in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz Canada's experienced team, will contribute to the continued success of the brand."
