OTTAWA, Nov. 20, 2018 /CNW/ - The Conference Board of Canada's Chief Economist, Pedro Antunes will be available to comment on the federal government's fall fiscal update scheduled for Wednesday, November 21.
The Canadian economy experienced robust economic growth last year, but the pace of expansion is expected to weaken this year and next. The government should address declining competitiveness, by helping promote capital investment and improvements in productivity in Canada. Aiming to reduce the deficit should also be a priority. The Conference Board projects Canada will post a $15-billion deficit in 2018-19.
Pedro Antunes is responsible for managing and producing the Conference Board's medium and long-term economic forecasts along with other economic indicators and reports.
