USW Counters with BAD Global Corporate Citizen Award to Roger Agnelli
TORONTO, Dec. 2 /CNW/ - On Wednesday in New York City, the United Steelworkers (USW) will announce the 'winner' of its 2009 Global Bad Corporate Citizen Award.
The USW's award to Vale SA CEO Roger Agnelli recognizes the massively profitable company's attack on workers' incomes, pensions and working conditions, and its detrimental impact on communities and the environment.
Canadian and American USW members will converge on New York's Waldorf Astoria hotel Wednesday to present their award, immediately before Agnelli is scheduled to receive a "Global Citizenship Award" from the Business Council for International Understanding.
