Media Advisory - Government of Canada to announce results of the first wave of new Canada Impact+ Research Training Awards

OTTAWA, ON, May 27, 2026 /CNW/ - The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Region, will be joined by Maggie Chi, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health, on behalf of the Honourable Marjorie Michel, Minister of Health, to announce the first wave of results for a new initiative to support the recruitment of top international research talent.

They will be accompanied by Anne-Marie Thompson, Vice-President of Research Grants and Scholarships at the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).

Following the announcement, members of the media are invited to participate in a lab tour.
