Media Advisory & Photo Op - Students learn safety and leadership at CAA camp

THORNHILL, ON, July 14, 2016 /CNW/ -



Elementary school students from across southern Ontario will learn first
aid, fire and bus safety at the annual CAA School Safety Patrol
Leadership Camp from July 19 to 22.

This year, approximately 110 patrollers from the CAA School Safety
Patrol Program
will participate in the camp hosted by CAA South Central
Ontario (CAA SCO) with the help of community partners. The annual
camp aims to empower students with skills, lessons and the know-how
required to become captains during the school year.

The following partners will be in attendance: Barrie Police Service,
Brantford Police Service, Kingsville O.P.P., London Police Service, Orillia
O.P.P., Oshawa Fire Services, Peel Regional Police, St. John
Ambulance, Toronto Police Service and the Windsor Police Service.


Wednesday July 20, 2016

Photo Op & Media Interviews:

10:15 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. – Patrollers learn new skills with hands-on
training and demonstrations about fire prevention, emergency first aid
and bus safety.

1 p.m. to 2 p.m. – Presentation by Peel Regional Police Explosives
Disposal Unit.
