Media advisory - Today: Carmeuse Lime workers hold info picket at client companies

HAMILTON / CAMBRIDGE, ON, April 1, 2015 /CNW/ - Carmeuse Lime workers in Beachville, Ontario are taking the current labour dispute on the road with two information pickets in Cambridge and Hamilton, starting today at 8 a.m.

Carmeuse Lime workers have been without a contract since April 2014. Approximately 87 members of Unifor Local 3264 have been on strike since January 17, advocating for job security, reasonable hours of work, maintaining benefits and no mandatory overtime.

Carmeuse workers are urging customers to get Carmeuse Lime management back to the bargaining table.

The information pickets are being held at the following locations:

ArcelorMittal Dofasco Inc: 1330 Burlington Street East, Hamilton (Gate 15)

Arriscraft, 875 Speedsville Road, Cambridge

Both ArcelorMittal and Arriscraft buy lime from Carmeuse in Beachville. Carmeuse is currently running operations with replacement workers who are bussed in each day past the picket line.
