Media Advisory - 'Strong Girls Strong Women' event shows girls the breadth of career possibilities
TORONTO, March 4, 2014 /CNW/ - Girls from 14 Toronto-area elementary and middle schools are converging at Centennial College's Progress Campus on Wednesday, March 5 to participate in interactive sessions and activities designed to explore non-traditional career paths for young women.
Two hundred girls aged 9 to 14 will have a chance to change tires on a Smart car, draw blood from a synthetic patient's arm, use a welding machine simulator, conduct media interviews, try out a CAD/CAM system, play with a robot and more.
Centennial College President Ann Buller will be welcoming the young participants at 10:30 am, before the girls move to the various activity zones. The Strong Girls Strong Women symposium is taking place at the Progress Campus Student Centre and adjoining Athletic and Wellness Centre in Scarborough tomorrow.
