Utility Opens the Doors to its Training Centre
WHO Toronto Hydro executives, professional instructors, apprentices in training, and local media. WHAT One-hour course on the electrical system in Ontario; Toronto Hydro's system and equipment; public safety; power outages and restoration; sneak peek on 2010 capital investment plans; and our extensive employee training program. The session will conclude with a tour and hands-on demonstration - pole climbing and adventures in underground vaults at the training centre. WHERE Toronto Hydro worksite at 500 Commissioners Street, Trades Training centre (Room 'D') WHEN Wednesday, November 25 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (media must arrive by 8:45 a.m.) WHY Toronto Hydro operates one of the best and most comprehensive in-house electrical utility trades training centres in Canada. It is also one of the few utilities that are an accredited training delivery agent recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. Media who attend will leave with a better understanding of Toronto Hydro and how it operates. As well, the outdoor event will provide good photo/visual opportunities.
