Media Advisory - Harry's 8K & 5K Spring Run-Off to Conquer Prostate Cancer races into High Park April 5th
36th Annual Run will benefit research at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and celebrate Harry Rosen's 60th Anniversary
TORONTO, April 3, 2014 /CNW/ - Raising more than $2.5 million over the past nine years for The Princess Margaret, Harry's Spring Run-Off 8K & 5K to Conquer Prostate Cancer aims to add another $200,000 to that total on Saturday, April 5th in Toronto's High Park.
As the city's oldest, continuously-held road race, the 36th annual event is steeped in tradition and features a cavalcade of runners, many 'suit'-ably attired, honoring Harry Rosen while aiming for the 'best-dressed' prize. It's a great day for families to cheer-on loved ones and see our youngest philanthropists in action at the Children's Run as well.

One in seven men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their life time. Last year 3,940 men died of prostate cancer, despite improvements in early detection and therapy. The good news is more than 90% of prostate cancer cases are curable if detected and treated in their earliest stages. Men over the age of 45 are urged to speak to their doctors about testing. |
