creating innovative website on renewable energy
Student team creates educational resource as part of city-wide Green Website Challenge
MISSISSAUGA, ON, June 18 /CNW/ -
What: Meet the members of the Green Girls - Robyn, Safiya, Julia, and
Imrat - four web-savvy fifth grade students from Meadowvale
Village Public School whose website, "Green energy: It's our
future now," has been selected the top site in the Green
Website Challenge, an educational competition created by
Bullfrog Power(R).
City of Mississauga Mayor, Hazel McCallion and Bullfrog Power
President, Tom Heintzman will visit the Green Girls' school to
speak with their entire Grade 5 class and present the Girls
with plaques to celebrate their accomplishment.
The Green Website Challenge was created to help students learn
about how energy from renewable sources compares to energy from
non-renewable sources and use their web skills to educate other
Mississauga residents about conserving energy.
