HALIFAX, June 29, 2012 /CNW/ - Following the recent arrival of Eastlink TV's new, state-of-the-art HD mobile production vehicle, Eastlink TV will proudly debut its first HD programming in Nova Scotia and PEI on Channel 610 July 1.

Eastlink customers can expect to see local sports including Eastlink Premiership Soccer, AUS Football , Halifax Rainmen Basketball and Quebec Major Junior Hockey, as well as popular local series like Welcome to My Kitchen, Doc Talk, Eastlink Magazine, Island View, Fishing With Friends and Path of Yoga among others in HD.
Since the arrival of the new HD Mobile production vehicle, Smith says Eastlink TV has been busy putting all of the key elements in place to prepare Channel 610 for its local HD debut on July 1. "We are more committed than ever to continue delivering the highest quality local TV content to our customers."
Eastlink TV will begin producing and airing live sports in HD later in the month including:
July 23: First HD sports content - Eastlink Premiership Soccer
Sept 1: Atlantic University Sport (AUS) Football Pre-Season Game 1 (Saint Mary's at Mount Allison)
Sept 8: AUS Regular Season opener (Saint Mary's at Acadia)
Sept 21: Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Season Opener (Halifax Mooseheads at Cape Breton Screaming Eagles)
Smith adds that the July 1 debut is just the beginning as Eastlink TV plans to introduce local HD across the country.
