LOTTO 6/49 jackpot not won - Saturday's draw an estimated $41 million
TORONTO, March 18 /CNW/ - No luck of the Irish last night, as the LOTTO 6/49 jackpot draw was not won. This means the jackpot is rolling over and the draw on Saturday, March 20 will be for an estimated $41 million.
"Anyone can win the jackpot at this point, as you only need one ticket to win," said Wendy Montgomery, Vice President of Lottery Marketing at OLG. "It may seem incredible to imagine the freedom of a prize this large, but every player has an equal chance at the big jackpot, so buy your ticket and don't forget to sign it!"
The largest jackpot ever won in Ontario on a single LOTTO 6/49 ticket is $40,441,465 on November 1, 2008.
Since LOTTO 6/49 was launched across Canada in June 1982, Ontario players have won 43% of the jackpot draws (1,176 jackpots out of 2,716).
OLG is a provincial agency responsible for province-wide lottery games and gaming facilities. Since 1975, OLG lotteries, casinos, slots, and resort casinos have generated more than $28 billion for the benefit of the Province of Ontario. Gaming proceeds support Ontario's hospitals, amateur sport, recreational and cultural activities, communities, provincial priority programs such as health care and education, and local and provincial charities and non-profit organizations through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
