Look on the Plus Side: LOTTO MAX Hits an Estimated $50 Million and Goes Into MAXMILLIONS Mode Français
TORONTO, March 10, 2012 /CNW/ - There are more than 50 million reasons to get excited about the next LOTTO MAX draw. The draw on Friday, March 16, 2012 will offer an estimated $50 million jackpot plus an estimated 2 MAXMILLIONS prizes of $1 million each.
When the LOTTO MAX jackpot hits $50 million, players can look for the 'plus' sign where lottery tickets are sold to determine how many extra, separate $1 million prizes are available. These "MAXMILLIONS" prizes are drawn independently from the LOTTO MAX jackpot draw.
Since its launch in September 2009, Ontario LOTTO MAX players have won over $1.1 billion in prizes, including 20 jackpot wins and 117 winning MAXMILLIONS tickets from all across the province.
For each $5 play, LOTTO MAX players receive three sets of seven numbers ranging from one to forty-nine. Players must match all seven numbers, in any one set, to win the jackpot and the MAXMILLIONS prizes.
Players can purchase tickets at authorized OLG retailers until 9 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2012 for the draw that evening.
OLG is a provincial agency responsible for province-wide lottery games and gaming facilities. Since 1975, OLG lotteries, casinos, slots, and resort casinos have generated more than $34 billion for the benefit of the Province of Ontario. Gaming proceeds support Ontario's hospitals, amateur sport, recreational and cultural activities, communities, provincial priority programs such as health care and education, and local and provincial charities and non-profit organizations through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
