JOIN TORONTONIANS LINING UP FOR THE CANADIAN LAUNCH OF NINTENDO SWITCH 2

TORONTO, June 3, 2025 /CNW/ - On June 5 at midnight, the Nintendo Switch 2 system will officially launch in Canada. To celebrate, Nintendo of Canada is hosting an evening launch event at EB Games Canada (formerly GameStop) at Yonge and Dundas, where Nintendo superfans eager to be among the first to get their hands on the new system, will be lined up.

The Nintendo Switch 2 system is Nintendo's newest video gaming system, which boasts a bigger screen full of vibrant colour and clarity, faster processing speeds, and new Joy-Con 2 controllers that snap on magnetically - and even double as a mouse in compatible games - marking it as the next step in gaming.

As fans wait to purchase the system, they'll enjoy Nintendo trivia, receive free swag (while supplies last) and engage with other fans. YouTuber and gaming enthusiast, Shark, will MC the event - dialling up the fun!

Nintendo of Canada's VP and General Manager, Susan Pennefather and EB Games President, Jim Tyo, will be onsite and available for interviews throughout the event.

WHEN: Wednesday, June 4, 2025, beginning at 10:00 p.m. EST

WHERE: EB Games Canada (formerly GameStop), 267 Yonge St, Toronto

WHAT: Nintendo superfans line up at EB Games Canada in downtown Toronto to be among the first to take home Nintendo's new video gaming system, Nintendo Switch 2. The celebration will include a countdown to midnight before the first customer claims their system.
