IKEA urges all customers that purchased CALYPSO ceiling lamps after August 1st, 2016, to check the date stamp on the product. IKEA is recalling CALYPSO ceiling lamps manufactured between and including these date stamps: (yyww) 1625 to 1744.
BURLINGTON, ON, Sept. 26, 2018 /CNW/ - Effective immediately, IKEA is recalling CALYPSO ceiling lamps manufactured between and including these date stamps: (yyww) 1625 to 1744, due to risk of glass shades falling.
IKEA takes product safety very seriously. All products are tested and comply with applicable standards and legislation. In spite of this, we have received reports that CALYPSO glass shades have fallen. In order to safeguard customers, IKEA will recall the affected batch as a precautionary measure.
IKEA urges all customers that own a CALYPSO ceiling lamp produced within the affected date stamps to return the product to the Returns & Exchange department at any IKEA store or call IKEA Customer Service toll-free, 1-800-661-9807. The product can be replaced with a new CALYPSO lamp or returned for a full refund. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required by IKEA for this recall.
IKEA wants to thank all customers for their understanding.
