EDMONTON, April 2, 2015 /CNW/ - Spring is here, and Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) offers its Top 10 things for what to include on your spring cleaning list.
"As temperatures warm up, we begin to tackle some chores around the house," said Bill Adams, Vice-President, Western & Pacific, IBC. "By completing the items in the list below, you can help ensure the safety of your loved ones and property throughout the summer months."
IBC's Top 10 tips for what to include in your spring cleaning are:
- Check and maintain your smoke detectors.
- Install or check your CO detectors.
- Clear any leftover snow away from your house, especially any near basement windows and doorways.
- Check your property for obstructions that could prevent water from draining away from your house.
- Review your family's emergency plan.
- Update your emergency kit.
- Check your car's lights, signals, tires, and fluids.
- Examine your windshield wipers; you may need to change your wipers if the winter weather has damaged them.
- Update your home inventory.
- Review your insurance policies.
