MONTREAL, June 22 /CNW Telbec/ - The renewal of HEC Montréal's EQUIS accreditation for a further five years places the School among the 124 business schools in 35 countries that hold this distinction, out of a total of some 12,000 business schools around the world. The accreditation, granted by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), is recognized for its extremely demanding and selective evaluation process, giving it an excellent reputation and great international prestige.
HEC Montréal first obtained EQUIS accreditation in 1999, and it was renewed in 2004. The evaluation process for the accreditation focuses on continuing improvement and covers all the School's study programs, from the undergraduate to the postgraduate level. Other fields of activity, from research to executive education and community outreach, as well as the School's degree of internationalization, the quality of resources and infrastructure provided for students and faculty, international recruitment efforts, innovative capacity, including the design of its study programs, the mobilization of staff members and its entrepreneurial spirit are also points that come in for very close attention.
"This renewal is a clear sign of the School's avant-garde character. Since it is part of a process of continuing improvement, it also underscores the School's remarkable progress year after year," emphasized Director Michel Patry. "It is a reflection of our ability to mobilize our human resources and engage them in promising projects aimed at constantly raising our standards of excellence."
HEC Montréal also holds AACSB International and AMBA accreditations. This three-fold mark of quality places it in a small and select group of some 40 institutions worldwide that hold all three of the world's most prestigious accreditations in management education.
