Groupe Pentathlon supported in its commercialization activities for the first edition of the Québec Singletrack Expérience Français
Government of Canada awards over $50,000 in financial assistance to Groupe Pentathlon in Québec City
QUÉBEC CITY, Aug. 9, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
Tourism provides an excellent opportunity for economic diversification at the national and regional levels. The Government of Canada's investment in cultural and sports events is an effective way to support actions that generate substantial economic and media spinoff in the regions in which the events are held.
The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, announced that Groupe Pentathlon was granted $50,250 in financial assistance, in the form of a non-repayable contribution, to implement a commercialization strategy outside Quebec for the first edition of an amateur mountain biking competition in the greater Québec City area, which was held from July 30 to August 5, 2017.
Groupe Pentathlon is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2006. Its mission is to develop innovative, high-impact, community-building sports events that provide exciting and rewarding experiences for participants and spectators alike. The funding granted through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program (QEDP) helped Groupe Pentathlon make media placements outside Quebec, develop a website, produce promotional videos, carry out a spinoff study and assign a contact to carry out commercialization activities and welcome foreign journalists.
