Member of Parliament Pauline Rochefort announces funding for an initiative targeting Northern Ontario communities and showcasing Indigenous artists.
TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON, Sept. 3, 2026 /CNW/ -- Arts and heritage organizations in Northern Ontario play a vital role in preserving regional history; supporting local artists; and fostering vibrant, connected communities.
Today, Pauline Rochefort, Member of Parliament (Nipissing–Timiskaming), announced funding of $93,534 for the Temiskaming Art Gallery through the Museums Assistance Program. She made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture and Minister responsible for Official Languages.
The Temiskaming Art Gallery is a professional public art gallery dedicated to delivering accessible and innovative cultural programming across Northern Ontario. Through research, curation and exhibition development, the gallery highlights the work of significant regional artists, with a strong commitment to showcasing Indigenous artists, women artists and the diverse artistic heritage of the region.
Funding through the Museums Assistance Program will support the project "Associated: Northern Ontario Art Association Histories." Through bilingual exhibitions, educational programming and community engagement initiatives, the project will help residents and visitors explore and celebrate Northern Ontario's rich artistic and cultural legacy while increasing access to the region's shared history and artistic achievements.
