The Government of Canada supports the Festival celtique de Québec
QUÉBEC CITY, Sept. 5, 2025 /CNW/ - Arts and culture are a vital pillar of our social unity and they strengthen our communities. They contribute to our national pride, our collective identity and our economic growth.
Today, Steeve Lavoie, Member of Parliament (Beauport–Limoilou), announced $37,900 in funding for the Festival celtique de Québec. He made the announcement on behalf of the Honourable Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture and Minister responsible for Official Languages.
The investment, made through the Local Festivals component of the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program, will allow the organization to present rich and diverse programming that showcases numerous local artists, artisans and heritage performers. These activities will bring people together from the Québec City area and remind them of the values and traditions that unite us.

The Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program gives Canadians opportunities to take part in activities that showcase local arts and culture or celebrate a region's history and heritage.
The Local Festivals component provides funding to local groups that organize recurring festivals and showcase the work of local artists and artisans, local heritage performers or specialists, and cultural carriers from First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities.
Since 2005, the Festival celtique de Québec has been dedicated to celebrating, preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Celtic nations in Quebec, particularly the Scottish, Irish and Breton nations.
The 20th Festival celtique de Québec includes music, theatre, dance, demonstrations and historical re-enactments. These activities showcase the talents of nearly 200 local artists and artisans, as well as some 50 local heritage performers. With the support of 55 dedicated volunteers, the Festival expects to welcome more than 25,000 visitors.
