George Brown Polytechnic Launches Global Leadership Program for Filipino Professionals in the AI Era
TORONTO, April 2, 2026 /CNW/ - George Brown Polytechnic (GBP) is launching a new global leadership program designed to help Filipino professionals build the skills needed to lead in an AI-driven economy.
Developed in collaboration with the Geese Project, the GP Leadership Accelerator Program is an 8-week, fully online course that combines practical leadership training with a focus on cultural identity and global workforce readiness.
Designed for professionals in Canada and abroad, the program focuses on the human skills increasingly in demand as artificial intelligence transforms the workplace – communication, adaptability, decision-making, and leadership in complex environments.
Starting May 2, 2026, the program offers 40 hours of flexible learning, including live virtual sessions and self-paced modules. Participants will earn a GBP certificate upon completion.
"As AI reshapes the workplace, there is a growing need for leaders who combine technical awareness with strong human-centred skills," said Dr. Colin Simpson, Dean, Centre for Continuous Learning and Professional Studies, George Brown Polytechnic. "This program reflects George Brown's commitment to practical, accessible education that prepares learners to succeed in today's workforce."
This program equips participants with:
- Practical leadership tools for real-world workplace challenges
- Skills in communication, decision-making, and team leadership
- Strategies for leading in technology-enabled environments
- A global perspective rooted in cultural awareness and identity
"This program is more than a course, it is a movement," said Richard Caballero, Founder of the Geese Project. "We are redefining what it means to be a leader in today's world by recognizing that leadership is deeply shaped by culture. Filipino leaders have inherent strengths that the AI era demands - relationship-building, resilience, integrity, and adaptability. This program is designed to unlock that potential on a global scale."
Offered through GBP's Continuing Education Studies, the fully online format enables participation from across Canada, the Philippines, and the global Filipino diaspora.
