Tangerine makes Fridays even better with bonus paydays and #TangerinePaydays contest
TORONTO, Aug. 22, 2014 /CNW/ - A new survey finds that the majority of Canadians (77 per cent) agree Friday is the best day of the week, and Tangerine wants to make it even better with Friday Bonus Paydays. Canadians who sign up for a Tangerine Chequing Account (or who already have a Tangerine Chequing Account) and transfer their payroll direct deposits to that account, can now receive up to $120 in $10 Friday Bonus Paydays.*
"We are rewarding our clients with a bonus payment each week over three months, rather than giving them a lump sum bonus, so that it feels like a payday in between paydays," said Andrew Zimakas, chief marketing officer at Tangerine. "Not only do clients save fees and time with a Tangerine Chequing Account, but now they get a few extra dollars that they can use to brighten their day, or add to their savings."
When asked what they would be most likely to do with an extra $10 on a Friday, most Canadians polled would either put the money towards a great meal (34 per cent) or buy a bottle of wine (20 per cent), while close to a third (29 per cent) said they would save it.
Now Tangerine is asking all Canadians to show what they would do with a $10 Friday Bonus Payday for the chance to win a $10 bonus into their account every Friday for one year.** Entries into the contest must be submitted by photo, video or text on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram using the hashtag #TangerinePaydays. A lucky winner will be selected each Friday for 10 weeks after the contest launches on August 25, 2014.
In order to collect the contest prize, winners must have a Tangerine Chequing Account. For full contest details, visit Facebook.com/TangerineBank starting on August 25, 2014.
To receive the full bonus of $120, the client's first payroll deposit must be received by October 31, 2014 and payroll deposits must continue for three consecutive calendar months. For more information about the promotion, visit tangerine.ca.
Survey Methodology
From July 23 to July 24, 2014 an online survey was conducted among 1,502 randomly selected Canadian adults who are Angus Reid Forum panelists. The margin of error—which measures sampling variability—is +/- 2.5%, 19 times out of 20. The results have been statistically weighted according to education, age, gender and region (and in Quebec, language) Census data to ensure a sample representative of the entire adult population of Canada. Discrepancies in or between totals are due to rounding.
