"I have known Martha for 15 years and have always been impressed by her commitment to Canadian Tire and the company's success. It was her vision and stewardship that has made Jumpstart into one of the country's foremost charities," said Michael Medline, President and Chief Executive Officer, Canadian Tire Corporation. "Her father and uncle were innovative thinkers who built this company from the ground up and Martha has followed in their footsteps by pushing the envelope and always supporting breakthrough ideas that have driven CTC forward."

Mary Turner has been with Canadian Tire for more than 20 years, holding positions of increasing responsibility in finance, information technology, customer service, credit risk and operations. In her current role, she oversees revenue growth, operational costs and credit risk for Canadian Tire Financial Services and Canadian Tire Bank. In addition to being an active member of the Niagara community, Mary has sat on the Board of Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities since its inception and is currently the Chair of the finance and audit committee.

"Our Financial Services business is a key division of Canadian Tire and helps drive the success of our retail businesses; Mary's relentless focus on results has steered CTFS to record performance levels throughout her tenure. Her emphasis on culture has developed a team of exceptionally talented individuals who are encouraged to pursue innovative opportunities that will grow the business and the brand," said Medline. "As the second woman to have ever led a bank in Canada, Mary serves as an inspiration for others looking to make their mark at Canadian Tire and in the world of finance in general."

Recipients of the WXN Canada's Most Powerful Women Top 100 award go above and beyond their role, helping to define the future of an enterprise and who play a key role in the overall success of their greater communities.
