CALGARY, May 16, 2016 /CNW/ - The countdown to the 2016 Eddies Short Film Festival is on! On June 4th, at Calgary's Theatre Junction Grand, 3 Canadian film makers will walk away with cash prizing among the highest payouts in North America for a short film, plus the coveted Eddies award. Not to mention, with the freshest craft beer and cider on ice for the event, it's going to be one heck of a party!
This year marks the 23rd year that Big Rock Brewery has hosted the Eddies, and it will be the 2nd year the brewery is focusing on short films. Big Rock continues to partner with Calgary Underground Film Festival and Calgary International Film Festival to promote the event and show the winning shorts at their respective festivals. Funds raised will be going back to support the Canadian film community via honorariums to CIFF and CUFF.
2016 Eddies Judges:
The Challenge: A nod to Big Rock founder Ed McNally, this year's submissions will be sharing their interpretation of "Trailblazer". No product (beer) placement is necessary, and all shorts can be no longer than 5 minutes.
CASH PRIZE:
$10,000 1st place, $5000 2nd place, $2500 3rd place
