MONTREAL, April 1, 2026 /CNW/ - RADIEM, the Regroupement pour l'abolition des décrets dans l'industrie de l'entretien ménager (Coalition for the Abolition of Decrees in the Public Building Cleaning Industry), brings together more than 200 entrepreneurs operating in the industry who have signed a letter of support expressing their endorsement of RADIEM. Through its mission, RADIEM seeks, among other objectives, to improve the working climate in the industry and reduce its administrative burden.
As part of the review of Bill 11, RADIEM has called on the government to include an essential measure: the abolition of collective agreement decrees. To ensure the legislation meets its intended objective, the government should include the abolition of collective agreement decrees in the cleaning industry.
These decrees, although established in a different economic context, no longer reflect the current realities of the labour market. They impose a rigid framework that hinders business competitiveness, creates additional costs due to administrative paperwork, and stifles innovation.
"It is imperative to support cleaning industry entrepreneurs and to reduce the administrative burden imposed on them by the Act respecting collective agreement decrees. The abolition of these decrees would help modernize our practices and foster a more dynamic economic environment," said John Mitropoulos, President of RADIEM.
Bill 11 represents a strategic opportunity for the government to simplify and modernize the regulatory framework for cleaning industry entrepreneurs. By including this reform, the government would send a strong signal in support of businesses in the sector.
