BASF Canada sending four growers to Hawaii with Win with AgCelence™ contest
MISSISSAUGA, ON, June 3, 2013 /CNW/ - Today, BASF Canada Inc. (BASF) announced the names of the four lucky winners who are hitting the beach for ten days in Hawaii through the Win with AgCelenceTM contest.
Jeffrey Hamblin of Morris, MB, Mervin Cradduck of Taber, AB, Benjamin Kautz of Lampman, SK, and Fred Toman of Guernsey, SK each took home a 10-day trip for two to Maui, Hawaii.
"This contest was great! The video outlining the science behind AgCelence benefits was very informative and because I watched the video, I get to take my wife to Hawaii when the snow comes back," says Jeff Hamblin, grand prize winner.
Earlier this year, BASF wanted to educate growers about BASF's unique AgCelence plant health benefits and in return, give them a chance to win a trip.
"Through the Win with AgCelence contest we were able to educate growers about the science behind AgCelence and give them the opportunity to win some great prizes," says Jason Leitch, Fungicide Brand Manager at BASF. "The AgCelence benefits growers are seeing are increased growth efficiency, stronger stems, greener leaves, and better stress management which ultimately lead to higher yield potential."
In order to qualify to win, Western Canadian growers visited the BASF AgSolutions® website and watched the Science Behind AgCelence video and submitted the Win with AgCelence online quiz. Twenty other contestants also received $500 Visa® gift cards or travel voucher and by entering the contest, each entrant received a BASF hat.
"Who wouldn't be excited about going to Hawaii? With the cold weather we had this past winter, this was a great way to reward Canadian growers while learning about BASF's AgCelence fungicides," says Leitch.
The Win with AgCelence contest ran from January 1, 2013 through to April 30, 2013. One grower from each of the regions BASF operates in Western Canada, including Alberta, Manitoba, Northern Saskatchewan and Southern Saskatchewan, took home a trip for two to Hawaii and five additional growers in each region were rewarded a $500 gift card.
