Government of Canada invests more than $3.1M to support 25 community infrastructure improvement projects

Abitibi-Témiscamingue and La Jamésie families will be able to enjoy improved recreational spaces and modern community facilities thanks to an investment of more than $3.1M by the Government of Canada. The funding will generate over $7.4M in related investments from other partners, such as non-profit organizations and municipalities.
The contributions were announced today by David Lametti, Member of Parliament for LaSalle–Émard–Verdun and Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions.
The funding for the Abitibi-Témiscamingue communities will support 25 projects, from bike paths and hiking trails to community centres, pools and arenas.
The investment is part of the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP150), a $300M fund that was established to celebrate Canada's 150th anniversary through investments in the community spaces that bring Canadians together. Up to $63.5 million of this amount will be invested in Quebec.

The project consists in renovating the local arena of the Municipality of Saint-Félix-de-Dalquier. More specifically, the project involves expanding the building, replacing the boards and rink-side glass panels, installing stands, and insulating and recladding the building.
