Young hockey fans to participate in third annual Minor Hockey Fights Cancer "Feel Like a Pro Day" to raise money for cancer research
- Kids get to "Feel Like a Pro" and spend the day with former Toronto Maple Leafs goalie, Curtis Joseph, Nashville Predator, Rich Clune and other hockey pros
TORONTO, April 4, 2013 /CNW/ - More than 200 kids will lace up and spend the day with Curtis Joseph, Rich Clune and other NHL stars to support Minor Hockey Fights Cancer "Feel Like a Pro Day," an event organized by 14-year old minor hockey player Mark Mannarn.
When Mark was 12, he created "Feel Like a Pro Day" to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society to help find a cure. The first event took place in 2011, and with the support of minor hockey players and corporate sponsors, Minor Hockey Fights Cancer has raised over $400,000 to date.
With the support of sponsors and the Canadian Cancer Society, Mark is teaming up with hockey pros on June 15, 2013 in his quest to find a cure. At this year's event young hockey fans will participate in drills with the pros and other hockey activities while supporting a worthy cause at the same time.
All of the proceeds are donated to the Canadian Cancer Society to fund research and support. Mark's vision is that Minor Hockey Fights Cancer raises $1,000,000 in the fight against cancer.
