TORONTO, Feb. 27, 2013 /CNW/ - Yesterday Yahoo! Inc. announced a significant change in its workplace policy mandating that all of its employees, including those with existing work-from-home arrangements, must now work from the office setting.
Yahoo! Inc.'s decision to enforce attendance conflicts with current trends that allow for greater employee freedom to decide when and how they work.
How would Canadians react if their employers removed the option to work from home? Not well, according to a recent survey from Hays Canada, a national recruitment consultancy, which found that more than a quarter (27 per cent) of Canadian employers want to add "ability to work from home" as a benefit in 2013.
