Solution Addresses Growth in 2015 VoIP Breaches by Protecting Call Data over the Internet
OTTAWA, Oct. 6, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - VoIPshield Systems Inc. has teamed up with Intel Security to deliver comprehensive solutions for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) security. The announcement comes on the heels of new research that shows Internet telephony networks are a major attack vector for cyber hackers1 .
To address this threat, two VoIPshield products are now compatible with Intel Security platforms to provide VoIP aware solutions and cover areas of potential intrusion. VoIPaudit™ is the specific vulnerability assessment compliance application for IP-PBX implementations in the Intel Security Portfolio. VoIPaudit integrates directly into McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), allowing system administrators to quickly and easily identify potential vulnerabilities that result from ongoing system release, configuration and admin activities from a single management console. Another compatible product is VoIPguard™ Technology. This application integrates into the McAfee Network Security Platform providing the latest firewall and virus protection for VoIP communication networks.
"By joining forces with VoIPshield we are simplifying the task of securing voice data while minimizing the risk of theft of sensitive information and fraud from unprotected VoIP networks. Our open, connected management platform, ePO, allows organizations to ensure that their VoIP systems are always up to the highest security standards. Our VoIPguard Technology allows system administrators to monitor voice traffic and act on any suspicious behavior" said Tyson Macaulay, CTO of Telecommunications at Intel Security.
A new study by security consultancy Nettitude showed that in the UK, 67% of all cyber attacks occur on VoIP systems1.
VoIPshield has been researching VoIP security for 10 years, is the vendor of VoIPguard Technology, the world's largest database of VoIP threat signatures and VoIPaudit, which provides a vulnerability assessment for VoIP call management platforms and includes a full path to remediation for vulnerabilities – bringing systems into compliance with established security standards and frameworks.
"By teaming with Intel Security, we are protecting more organizations by equipping them with the latest VoIP threat signatures" said Rob Gowans, CEO of VoIPshield Systems. "Not securing phone communications is akin to leaving the back door to the house wide open. Our solutions protect companies from this incognito threat."
