TORONTO, Dec. 21 /CNW/ - Workers and supporters will be demonstrating this morning outside of the shuttered M&I Air Systems plant in Mississauga, after the company suddenly closed its doors last week throwing 150 people out of work.
The closure is a bitter start to the holiday season for the workers who are owed back pay, vacation pay and other outstanding pay and benefits.
The workers are represented by CAW Local 252. The workforce is primarily first generation Canadians with a range of seniority from a few years up to 20 years.
The picket will be set up this morning as of 8 a.m. outside of the plant located at:
2140 Meadowpine Blvd.
M&I Air Systems manufactures products for the heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry.
