TORONTO, April 4, 2017 /CNW/ - Women in Capital Markets (WCM), a non-profit advocacy organization which promotes the entry and advancement of women in the financial industry and the increase in the representation of women in leadership roles in the Canadian economy, announces the launch of its newest chapter in Calgary.
With this expansion, WCM's national organization will have active chapters in four Canadian cities, including Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver, and a membership base of 1,500+ across the country.
"We are delighted to have such an enthusiastic response to WCM's expansion to Calgary from women in the financial industry and the corporate community more broadly," said Jennifer Reynolds, WCM President & CEO. "WCM has a 22-year history of developing professional development initiatives to advance women in their careers which we look forward to bringing to this market. WCM will also work to partner with corporations in Calgary to help them develop and execute initiatives that increase the proportion of women at all levels of the organization, in particular, in the executive suite."
WCM's Calgary Chapter will officially launch with a sold-out event on Thursday, April 6th at the Petroleum Club. More than 140 professional women will be in attendance. Jennifer Reynolds, who will lead the evening's activities, will be joined by many senior women from the industry.
"There is a large pool of talented professional women in Calgary and WCM will work closely with them to develop and support both current and future female corporate leaders," Reynolds said.
