SHANGHAI, May 4, 2014 /CNW/ - HOTELEX Shanghai 2014 concluded successfully on April 3 at Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) which attracted increased numbers of exhibitors and visitors from star-rated hotels, bars, restaurants, clubs and distributors from all over the world. The number of professional visitors has also seen impressive growth with a 16% increase on the 2013 edition. A total of 81,596 professional visitors from over 132 countries participated. Fascinating competitions and industry forums became the hot zones with the most foot traffic and frequent bursts of applause and cheering.

As one themed part of HOTELEX, Winexpo has been successfully held for 11 editions and has accumulated thousands of excellent domestic and overseas suppliers, importers and buyers. It is becoming one of the most professional purchasing wine fairs in the Chinese drinks industry, providing a green-trade platform for import wine enterprises, leading the largest consumption market and extending your wine revenues across all of China. During Winexpo 2014, over 60 international wine brands showcased their various wines and spirits.
An annual wine & spirits exhibitors' get-together
Winexpo 2014 attracted famous wineries from France, Spain, the U.S.A., Austria, Argentina, New Zealand and Germany to promote their wines to the Chinese market, including FSuhru Wines, Winery of Ellicottville LLC, Wagner Commercial Winery, Black Willow Winery LLC, and Brotherhood, America's Oldest Winery. Increasing numbers of overseas brands also participated such as WillaKenzie, Castle Rock, Tudor, and Hedges. Meanwhile, the spirits sector also attracted world famous spirits brands such as Bacardi China, Janneau Armagnac, Ron Barcelo, Stolichnaya, PRIMET, BOLS, American Whiskey, DIVIDIDO, MONIN, and Perrier. Visitors received a breath of fresh air with the fantastic wines and enjoyed a most satisfactory service.
2014 That's spirits live show
That's Spirits Live show will be held for the first time at the Shanghai new international expo centre, HALL N2 on March 31 - April 3rd 2014. Through a host of Master Classes, bartender competitions, tastings, the BACARDí RUM FESTIVAL, and parties aimed at both novices and experienced professionals, bar and restaurant owners, bartenders, distributors. The festival's events will inspire, educate and unite cocktail lovers. We are passionate in serving the industry, enterprises and individuals and developing China's spirits industry, as well as promoting the spirits market and culture.
Before the spirits show, the road show has been held several times in a number of other cities in order to help the Chinese wine merchants follow the laws for the industry and to appraise the industry pulse in order to achieve a good start for the related businesses.
The first day of the Master Class saw the MONIN 2014 new product launches. The bartender Mr. Lei Yinghui brought seven types of cocktail to share with visitors. In the afternoon, Mr. Huang Xiaofeng shared the PRIMET liqueur as its brand ambassador. Further, David Ding from Bols, RON BARCELO and other spirit brands provide a special spirits journey for visitors.
China Master Bartender Competition
The China Master Bartender Competition has upgraded to its third version with a more diversified contender profile and more authoritative judging panel. During the four-day competition, 70 bartenders participated with their strongest passion. The Classical Cocktail Challenge champion finally emerged as Mr. Liu Bing from Muse on the Bund who will be invited to the U.K. to attend the World's 50 Best Bars ceremony, and he will also receive a pass to the Hong Kong bartender competition. Meanwhile the Flairtending Cocktail Challenge champion's award went to Mr. Zhan Chao from Guang Zhou who will take part in the Hong Kong bartender competition and the 2015 master class road show.
The BACARDI RUM FESTIVAL
On the last day of the exhibition, BACARDI Rum presented its festival to visitors. It delivered a display of its rum culture and showcased its charms to consumers and professionals alike. In order to the introduction of the BACARDI brand history and the rum-making techniques, lots of excellent bartenders were invited to make their original BACARDI cocktails at this festival.

HOTELEX 2014 prepared an exotic food journey onsite for the most discerning taste buds. The Italian Chef on Stage featured the famous Italian restaurant Casanova putting on an authentic Italian food journey through showcasing top-tier Italian chefs and the best quality Italian food ingredients. Italian food has its own charm because of its unique cooking styles and techniques. The audience enjoyed up-close contact with authentic Italian food but also Italian gourmet culture during the four-day Italian food journey. Moreover, the wine-tasting matched to the delicious food brought further fantastic experiences.
