QUEBEC, June 1, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - As partners with Opération Enfant Soleil for the past 20 years, Familiprix wishes to celebrate the non-profit organization's 25th anniversary in a special way by launching a unique social media campaign. Inspired by the ''domino effect'', the campaign gives rise to the ''paying it forward'' motion, which calls upon Facebook fans to aid in the creation of a 25,000 piece domino chain!
Familiprix will give $1 to Opération Enfant Soleil for each Facebook fan that creates his or her own virtual domino until the combined total reaches 25,000 pieces. This chain will symbolize the 25th anniversary of Opération Enfant Soleil and its great support to the cause. The campaign will close with the knocking over of a real life domino chain that will be constructed to bring together and celebrate the widespread participation of the online community.
"With this campaign, Familiprix wishes to generate awareness and involve each and every person within our community since our Facebook fans will have the chance to add their virtual domino and write a personalized message of hope for the children. Facebook is the perfect medium for us to talk directly to the people and where their personal involvement will take physical form at the exciting finale event", said Albert Falardeau, President of Familiprix.
The virtual domino application enables the user to share the campaign, to pursue the chain with their friends on Facebook as well as make a donation online directly to Opération Enfant Soleil.
Familiprix is a proud partner of Enfant Soleil for over 20 years and has given more than $7.5 million to support them in their cause.
With a retail revenue exceeding one billion dollars, Familiprix has more than 5,000 employees within its network and is present nationwide across Quebec with more than 300 branches. Familiprix is amongst the top 150 companies most admired in Quebec (Source: Palmarès les Affaires, 2012.)
