CALGARY, Oct. 27, 2014 /CNW/ - The ProActive Communication Team (PACT) announce that a tentative agreement has been reached between WestJet and the Flight Attendant Association Board (FAAB), a subgroup of PACT. This is the first-ever flight attendant agreement to be voted on by WestJet flight attendants.
The agreement is being rolled out to flight attendants starting on November 1 with a ratification period of two weeks set to run between November 10- 24, 2014.
"This agreement was built with a focus on shared interests, process, and sustainability while taking care of our people. The work was done by our flight attendants, for our flight attendants and FAAB fully supports this tentative agreement. ," says Anthony Pascale Chair of FAAB.
"This tentative agreement is yet another example of how we continue to take care of our members in an interest-focused approach" says Antonio Faiola, PACT Chair and employee representative on WestJet's Board of Directors. "For over 15 years, PACT has worked with WestJet to ensure WestJetters continue to enjoy industry leading total compensation package while contributing to the success of our airline".
The ProActive Communication Team (PACT) is WestJet's employee association that represents 9,500 non-management employees across Canada. PACT was founded in 1999 and is now made up of six subgroups with 150 elected representatives across all areas of WestJet's business. These subgroups are: Airport Communications Team (ACT) representing 2,700 customer service agents and other airport-based employees, Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Association (AMEA) representing over 600 aircraft maintenance engineers, the Flight Attendant Association Board (FAAB) representing over 2,600 flight attendants, Rez Voice, representing contact centre employees, Technical Administrative and Professional Support (TAPS), representing over 1,300 office and support staff and the WestJet Pilot Association (WJPA) representing over 1,500 pilots. PACT also represents WestJet Encore employees.
