Western Direct Insurance honoured with the SMCC 2014 Award of Distinction

HIGH RIVER, AB, May 14, 2014 /CNW/ - Western Direct Insurance is honoured with The Sponsorship Marketing Council of Canada (SMCC) 2014 Award of Distinction - Small Budget Program. The award was presented to Western Direct Insurance for their ongoing community involvement and sponsorship of the Canadian Cancer Society's 'Quote 4 Cures' campaign.

The SMCC award recognizes outstanding achievements in strategic thinking and awards businesses who have maximized investments in sponsorship marketing.

Western Direct Insurance is recognized for their campaign and its fight against women's cancers. As part of the campaign, Western Direct donated $10.00 for every car or home insurance quote completed online and through Western Financial Group offices in Alberta during the month of October.

"Our amazing partnership with Western Direct Insurance allowed us to work together to create an innovative and effective campaign in 'Quote 4 Cures' that not only increased awareness, but also money to fight women's cancer," said Tiffany Kraus, external engagement lead at the Canadian Cancer Society. "We are so excited that 'Quote 4 Cures' was selected for the Award of Distinction - it will allow us to maximize our exposure and make a real difference in fighting this disease that takes away too many loved ones."

To date, Western Direct Insurance has raised $52,500 through 'Quote 4 Cures'. The 2014 'Quote 4 Cures' campaign will begin in October.
